BOY & CUB SCOUTS -

We are proud to sponsor Cub Scout Pack 509 that began in the fall of 2014.  A Boy Scout Troop is soon to become a part of our program.  We welcome all boys ages 7 to 10 (11 and up when the Troop is activated).  Visit our Tuesday meetings to see how your child could benefit from this rewarding experience, and all Legion Family is welcome to volunteer to assist these great kids !!

   HONOR GUARD-

We are proud to have a Post 509 Honor & Color Guard that include Legionnaires, Sons & Riders of the 509.  The Honor Guard is a “donation only” service that is offered to all Veterans as the family makes their final arrangements.  We do regular fundraising events to help keep the Guard outfitted & equipped.  All members are welcome to join in this rewarding experience to honor our Veterans who have served our country - give us a call and join us at our next meeting !!

       CHILDREN & YOUTH -

Post 509 has a great Children & Youth program and works tirelessly to address the needs of our local youth and make every effort to assure that their needs are being met.  Major funding for our C&Y program comes from Sunday Dance lunch sales & Wednesday B.I.N.G.O - so come out and shake a leg or try your luck at B.I.N.G.O. or better yet, come and and volunteer some of your time to help with these events - our Children & Youth are counting on it !!!

    FLAG ADVOCACY -

Flying the flag of the American flag is serious business, and sharing the United States Flag Code, teaching respect for the flag, proper display, usage and retirement of the Stars and Stripes, including the folding of the flag and all that that symbolizes, as well as the history of the Star Spangled Banner is a program that we share at all possible opportunity.  Please contact us to schedule a Flag Advocacy Program for your group !!

       ORATORICAL CONTEST -

The Oratorical Contest presents participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our nation's laws, the ability to think and speak clearly, and an understanding of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship.  Participants compete at local, state & national levels and are sponsored by Posts across the country, including the 509.  Let us know if you are interested in helping out these talented students achieve their dreams !!
